Southwest Farm Services is the largest supplier of hay in the Southwestern part of the United States. With a heavy concentration in Arizona, California, and Texas, Southwest Farm Services buys, sells, and delivers upwards of 300-400 truckloads, or roughly 10,000 tons of hay per week.

The Challenge

For years, Southwest Farm Services relied on an antiquated system of paper invoices and triple data entry to track their inventory, which often left them 1-2 weeks behind real-time orders. This resulted in capacity and expansion issues, as well as significant loss of sales, resulting in a 10-20% yearly inefficiency. Southwest Farm Services desperately needed an affordable, yet an integrated solution that leveraged mobile and location-based sales in real time.

Elementz & Southwest Farms

Elementz architected and built an integrated enterprise resource planning (ERP) system for bids, purchase orders, sales orders, inventory, warehouse management, and sophisticated reporting. Buyers and sellers can now enter purchase and sales orders online or via a custom iPad app when working out in the field, with the system automatically syncing to provide up-to-date, real-time inventory. The System also provides instantaneous logistics solutions, enabling users to schedule trucks and track them as they travel assigned pick-up and delivery routes.
